Project Overview
Hilltops Shire Council required a Design and Construct Potable pipeline upgrade for Young which obtains its water from Golden fields Water, project connection would start adjacent to the Terminal Storage Reservoir (TSR) on Back Creek Road. Council has identified the need to replace an existing DN225 Cl pipeline with a new pipeline of DN300 PVC pipeline from the TSR along Back Creek Road to a point just south of the intersection with Mathew Crescent, a distance of approximately 2.7km.The proposed pipeline begins on the eastern side of Back Creek Road opposite the TSR, runs along the eastern side of Back Creek Road until it transitions to the western side the road at a curve, and continues on the western side of Back Creek Road. The pipeline then turns west under Back Creek Rd and connects to an existing 450mm internal diameter AC pipeline. There are connections to existing rising mains, and 37 existing metered service lines, along the alignment. These pipelines are to be kept in service throughout the works and transferred to the proposed pipeline as part of the commissioning of the works.
